Display and Processor

The Canvas Knight gets a 5 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441ppi. The smartphone produces sharp and bright colours and the sunlight legibility won’t be an issue as well. Elife E7 features a 5.5 inch screen with a full HD resolution as well and has its pixel density standing at 401ppi due to a bigger screen size. You would have to choose on the basis of what scree size do you prefer more. Processing department is where both of them are miles apart from each other. The Canvas Knight uses a Mediatek MT6592T 2GHz Octa Core processor which offers a pretty high level of performance and it finishes a close second behind the Snapdragon 800 of the Elife E7 which gets four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and an optional 2.5 GHz.

Camera and Internal Storage

Both the smartphone feature similar camera units, be it the secondary camera or the primary camera. The Canvas Knight as well as the Elife E7 get a 16MP rear camera unit and an 8MP front camera. The Gionee offering, however has a slight upper hand in the image reproduction department. Both smartphones come without expandable storage. The Canvas Knight gets an internal storage capacity of 32GB along side a 2GB RAM. The Elife E7 is however offered in two variants: one with 16GB of internal memory coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 32GB memory option unit coupled with 3GB of RAM.

Battery and Operating System

The Canvas Knight gets a 2,350 mAh battery which has been rated to provide  7.5 hours of talk time and 175 hours of standby time on 2G. Any amount of heavy usage and the battery will start draining at a pretty brisk pace. The Elife E7 on the other hand gets a paltry 2,500 mAh battery unit which we think is pretty small to power such a big device. It will probably ease out by evenings and you’ll need to carry around an extra battery pack at all times. Canvas Knight as well as the Elife E7 run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean while both of them are expected to get the latest version of Android, 4.4 KitKat as well.

Key Specs

Conclusion

The Canvas Knight comes across as an immense value for money device in the sub Rs 20,000 segment whereas the E7 misses out on a pricing that is at par with the Nexus 5 in most cases. Both of them are pretty capable devices and Canvas Turbo comes a close second when  compared to the E7. As per my opinion, Canvas Knight however takes the cake with similar features and a way low price tag.
